Siblings Kimberly, Reid, and Neil Perry have been performing together for over twelve years. Originally from Alabama, they grew up in Greeneville, TN. The band transitioned to Nashville and signed to Republic Nashville, sister label to Big Machine Records, in summer of 2009. Just over a year later, their debut self-titled album, The Band Perry, was released in October of 2010 and in February of 2011, was certified gold for sales over 500,000. "If I Die Young," the band's second single, was a #1 hit and sold more than 1 million copies. Their third single, "You Lie," is quickly climbing the charts. The song contains similes galore and sends a strong message to the character in the song who hasn't exactly been honest. The music video was released on February 28, 2011. With so many accomplishments in such a short amount of time, there is no telling what The Band Perry will achieve in 2011.
Jesse was privileged to sit down with The Band Perry before a show and discuss their recent gold album certification, the upcoming tour with Tim McGraw and Luke Bryan, the making of the "You Lie" video, and much more! Listen to the interview below and be sure to "like" us on Facebook.
