CMTH Bonus Interview: Jordyn Shellhart
Jordyn Shellhart, a 16 year old singer/songwriter, was born in Wheatland Wyoming, and raised in Santa Rosa, California. Her talent was recognized at the early age of eight when she won first place in a contest. At age ten, she sang the National Anthem at a San Francisco Giant's game. Within five months, Jordyn and her family moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in country music. Jordyn was introduced to Taylor Swift's former manager, Rick Barker, from Nashville to You LLC, who saw something unique in Jordyn. The day after her fourteenth birthday, Jordyn was offered a publishing deal with SeaGayle Music Publishing. She wasn't even fifteen when Joe Galante of Sony Nashville offered the musician a record deal. Since, Jordyn has recorded her debut album rightfully titled "In a Room" because it was recorded in a Nashville to You office. Jordyn Shellhart, one of country music's rising stars, is sure to be around for a while making music.

Jesse: This is Jesse from CountryMusicTreehouse.com and I am joined with Jordyn Shellhart. How are you?
Jordyn: I'm great, how are you?
Jesse: Great. Where do you get your inspirations to write songs?
Jordyn: I write songs about everything that happens to me and other people and things I see on tv and other songs that I hear.
Jesse: You're from around here right? (Nashville)
Jordyn: Yes, I live in Franklin.
Jesse: Do you still go to a regular high school, or do you do homeschooling?
Jordyn: I'll be a junior at a public high school next year.
Jesse: Is it easy to balance that and having a record deal at the same time?
Jordyn: It's not that bad. I have a lot of people that help me out with that, so it's pretty fun.
Jesse: Where would you see your career in just a few years? What do you see yourself doing?
Jordyn: I hope to just keep playing, recording, and writing music. As long as I'm doing that, I'm happy.
